London New Year's Day Parade 2013

Our most memorable year might have ended, but the Pandemonium Drummers keep on boshing!

The sun shone brightly as we joined the London New Year's Day Parade on 1st January 2013 in our Blue Lightbulb Bowler Hat costumes from the London 2012 Olympic Closing Ceremony to underline the parade's motto Hats Off to London.

On position 48, the drummers were happy to finally get started after a long wait in Mayfair, although we happily entertained ourselves with a few grooves.

As we marched the streets of Westminster in neat lines, over 500,000 spectators greeted us with smiles and cheers, and occasionally the odd drummer broke ranks to let members of the public, young and old, have a go at banging on our buckets and bins.

The parade culminated in a one-minute performance on Whitehall, which was broadcast live on TV world-wide.

The Pandemonium Drummers were mentioned in most major UK newspapers, as we featured in the highlight press blurb from major press agencies.

With 80 participants, the parade was the largest gathering of Pandemonium Drummers since the London 2012 Olympic Ceremonies - and we could have beaten this number easily, had we not been restricted to 80.

This demonstrates that the volunteering spirit and enthusiasm is still going strong, and you can expect many more performances in 2013!
