Welcome to the Pandemonium Drummers!

Community events, parades, festivals, happenings, specatulars, stadium performances.
We started life as the Volunteer Drummers in the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony.
Big developments ahead in the coming months!

Six Gigs in Four Days

The Pandemonium Drummers keep themselves extremely busy with six gigs in only four days, starting tomorrow:

On Wednesday, 24th October, drummers in Industrial Revolution costume will support a performance of the Olympic Suffragettes with Dr Helen Pankhurst at a UK Feminista Rally in Westminster. The rally and performance will be at Church House, 27 Great Smith Street, SW1P 3AZ from 11:00-12:30, followed by a photo call from 13:00-13:30 in Parliament Square opposite the Houses of Parliament.

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 25th-27th October, drummers will look extra spooky in their Industrial Revolution outfits plus undead make-up when they play at the Old Vic Tunnels for the Zombie Horror Camp. The Saturday is already sold out, but tickets for Thursday and Friday are still available. If you only want to catch the Pandemonium Drummers performance, come to the Leake Street Tunnel at Waterloo Station at 7pm (Thurs) or 8pm (Fri & Sat). The drummers will play outside the venue to welcome participating zombies pandemonically.

On Saturday, 27th October, you have the choice to see Pandemonium drummers either:
  • at the Old Vic Tunnels (see above),
  • in Belsize Park at a charity variety gig for hospital and bereavement funds (sorry, no detailed information available), or
  • at Liphook Carnival in Hampshire, where Pandemonium Drummers will join the procession! The entertainment programme starts at 6.30pm in the square, while the procession kicks off at 7pm and will return to the square around 8.30pm.

Summary:

ABOUTPandemonium Drummers

The Pandemonium Drummers were originally put together by London 2012 Ceremonies for the Pandemonium segment of Danny Boyle's spectacular Olympic Opening Ceremony. Following the Ceremony, the volunteer drummers kept on performing at a variety of events.

Based on their extensive training, they performed at other Opening Ceremonies, including the UEFA Champions League Final 2013, the FA Cup Final 2014, and the Heineken Cup Final 2014, and at a variety of large and small festivals as well as sports and community events. The Pandemonium Drummers are a returning act in London's major parades, including the London New Years' Day Parade, St Patrick's Day Parade, and the Lord Mayor's Show, and they coined Cheer Drumming, supporting runners at major sports events across the capital and beyond. The Pandemonium Drummers have supported the Special Olympics, the Teenage Cancer Trust, and a wide range of other charities.

The Pandemonium Drummers are a constituted association with charitable aims, and are working on a non-profit basis as volunteers.
