The Olympic Suffragettes are back
The Suffragettes from the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony performed their Opening Ceremony routine again - this time as a real protest in front of the Houses of Parliament in Westminster. UK Feminista organised a rally for equal rights for women. The demonstrators included Dr Helen Pankhurst and Laura Pankhurst, descendants of Emmeline Pankhurst who led the suffragette movement in the late 19th/early 20th century.
A group of Pandemonium Drummers sided with the Suffragettes and supported the performance in true Olympic spirit.
